The Factory page on an XL. The keys are drawn by the plugin's own code from a made-up factory.

What it shows

  • Power for each circuit: use against capacity, spare power now and at peak, battery charge with the time until full or empty, and a blown fuse in red.
  • Production: what your factory makes of an item each minute, against what its machines can make or a target you set. A press shows net, made less used.
  • Storage: how much of an item is in your containers, or uploaded to the Dimensional Depot against its limit, with a warning below an amount you set.
  • Logistics: trains, drone ports and trucks, what each is doing and where it goes next, and which one is derailed, out of fuel or held at signals.
  • Readouts: the game clock and day, the session, time played, your health, players online, sink points and coupons, the milestone and the ship's return.
  • A dedicated server, if you run one: its status, players, tick rate, tier and project phase, from the server's own API.

What you need

  • Windows 10 or 11 with Stream Deck software 7.1 or newer.
  • A Stream Deck, Stream Deck XL, Stream Deck +, Stream Deck Mini, Stream Deck Neo or a Corsair Galleon 100 SD.
  • Satisfactory 1.2, started through the Satisfactory Mod Manager.
  • Ficsit Remote Monitoring 1.5 or later, with its web server started (below). It is a community mod by its own authors, not ours; the mod manager installs it, and SML with it.
  • The game on this PC, or on another PC or a dedicated server on your network.

1. Install the plugin

In testing. Foreman Deck is built, against the current game and mod, and is going through its first run in the game. This page will link to it once that run has checked it against the game itself.

2. Set up Ficsit Remote Monitoring

Ficsit Remote Monitoring (FRM) runs a small web server inside the game that answers with what your factory is doing. That is what Foreman Deck reads.

  1. In the Satisfactory Mod Manager, install Ficsit Remote Monitoring from its page on ficsit.app.
  2. Start the game through the mod manager and load a save.
  3. Start FRM's web server: type /frm http start in the game's chat. To have it start by itself every time, turn on its autostart option in the game's Options, Mods.
  4. The keys come alive. To check FRM on its own, open http://localhost:8080/getPower in a browser: a page of figures means it is up.

FRM answers on port 8080 unless you change it in its options. Without it the keys say what is missing instead of going blank: game not running, FRM not answering with a reminder of /frm http start, no answer from FRM for a game on another PC, not FRM on this port if something else holds the port, and update FRM on a key that needs something an older FRM lacks.

A game on another PC, or a dedicated server

FRM also runs on the host of a session and on dedicated servers. In any Foreman Deck key's settings, open Setup and set the FRM address to that PC's address (such as 192.168.1.20) and the FRM port to the port set in FRM's options. The port has to be reachable on your network.

For the Dedicated Server keys, fill in Dedicated server (optional): the server's address, its API port (7777) and an API token, which you make by typing server.GenerateAPIToken in the server's console. The server's status shows without a token; players, tier and the rest need one. These keys only read: they never save, load or shut down the server. A dedicated server's API uses a certificate it made itself, so Allow the server's own self-signed certificate is ticked unless you untick it; with it ticked, Foreman Deck does not check the server's certificate.

3. The Foreman Deck key and its pages

Drag the Foreman Deck key onto any profile and press it: your deck opens a ready-made layout with six pages, with Back at the bottom left of every page.

  • Factory: power, batteries and the fuse, the game clock and the milestone, your biggest production lines, storage and trains.
  • Power: each circuit, all circuits added up, the fuse, batteries, spare power and your power switches.
  • Production: up to twelve items, biggest first.
  • Storage: what your containers hold, most first, and the Dimensional Depot.
  • Logistics: trains, drone ports and trucks, each counted with the first one in trouble, and one by one.
  • Server: a dedicated server's status, players, tick rate, tier and phase, beside the game clock, players online and your health.

The layout fills itself from your save: the first production key is the item your machines can make most of, the first storage key the item you have most of, and so on. Any key can be set to one item, circuit, train or switch of your own instead.

Two Stream Deck pages side by side. Power, with fuses blown: Fuse, main grid, Blown, reset it in game, on a solid red key; Power, circuit 2, 96.3 MW of 150 MW; Power, circuit 3, 12 MW of 30 MW; two more red Fuse keys, all circuits, Blown; Battery, main grid, 0%, holding; another red Fuse key, main grid, Blown; Switch keys Coal Plant On, lit amber, press: off; Oil Field Off, dimmed, press: on; Smelters West On, lit; then Back to the Factory page; Switch, Storage Lights, On, lit; FRM Link, Connected, localhost:8080; Page Production; Next Page, Production. Logistics, with trouble: Trains, 4 trains, 3 stuck in red, Coal Run derailed; Train, Bauxite Express, No power in red; Train, Coal Run, Derailed, on a solid red key, to Power Plant; Train, Manual Loco, Moving in green, 30 km/h; Train, Steel Shuttle, Signals in red, to Ore Yard; Drone Ports, 3 ports, 1 stuck, Plastic Hub no fuel; Drone Port, Battery Drop, Docked; Drone Port, Computer Port, Loading; Drone Port, Plastic Hub, Not Enough Fuel in red; Vehicles, 2 vehicles, 1 stuck, truck deadlocked; then Back; Vehicle, Truck, Deadlocked in red, to Quartz Dock; Vehicle, Truck, Driven, to Quartz Dock; Train, slot 5, a dash, 4 in this save; Next Page, Server.
The Power page with the fuses blown, and the Logistics page with trains, a drone port and a truck stuck. Made-up factories.

There is a layout for the Stream Deck, XL, +, Mini, Neo and Corsair Galleon 100 SD. Stream Deck offers them when the plugin is installed. On the Stream Deck + and the Galleon 100 SD every page fills all four dial screens: on the Factory page the main grid, your first production line, a train and the game clock. On the Galleon 100 SD the two dials and their second layer (hold a dial for about 3 seconds) carry the four screens.

Left, a Stream Deck + on the Factory page: Power, main grid, 1,412 MW of 1,850 MW; Fuse, all circuits, OK in green; Made Per Min, water, 1,440 cubic metres a minute of 1,800 max; Trains, 5 trains, All OK; then Back, the Power and Production pages and Next Page, Power. On its touch strip, four dial screens: main grid, power, 1,412 MW, 1 of 3; water, made a minute, 1,440, 1 of 16; Bauxite Express, train, Docked, 1 of 5, to Refinery North; game time 13:31, day 41, daytime. Right, a Corsair Galleon 100 SD on the Logistics page: Trains, 4 trains, 3 stuck in red; Train, Bauxite Express, No power; Train, Coal Run, Derailed, on a red key; Train, Manual Loco, Moving; Drone Ports, 1 stuck; Drone Port, Battery Drop, Docked; Drone Port, Computer Port, Loading; Vehicles, 1 stuck; Vehicle, Truck, Deadlocked; Back to the Factory page; Game Time 13:31; Next Page, Server. Beside its keys, four dial screens in a two by two grid: Bauxite Express, train, No power in red, 1 of 4; 4 trains, 3 stuck, Coal Run derailed; Battery Drop, drone port, Docked, trip 1 minute; Truck, vehicle, Deadlocked in red, 1 of 2.

When a fuse blows

When any circuit's fuse blows, every deck showing the layout turns to its Power page, so you see it at once. Nothing else turns pages. The setting Turn to the Power page when a fuse blows on the Foreman Deck key turns it off. FRM has no way to reset a fuse, so the key says to reset it in the game.

4. The keys and dials

Every key except the Foreman Deck key also works on a dial, drawn across the whole dial screen. On the Stream Deck + a touch on the strip does the same as a push.

KeyShowsA pressOn a dial
PowerA circuit, or all of them added up: use and capacity, batteries, spare capacity or the fuseReads againTurn: the next circuit. Push: the next view
Power SwitchA switch by name, lit when onTurns it on or offTurn: pick a switch. Push: on or off
ProductionAn item made per minute, against its machines' maximum or your targetMade or netTurn: the next item. Push: made or net
StorageAn item in your containers or the Dimensional Depot, with a warn-below amountReads againTurn: the next item. Push: back to your pick
LogisticsA train, drone port or truck, or all of them counted with the first one stuckReads againTurn: the next one. Push: back to your pick
ReadoutGame clock and day, session, time played, health, players, sink points, coupons, milestone and ship, FRM linkReads againTurn: the next reading
Dedicated ServerStatus, players, tick rate, tier and milestone, phase, session, time playedReads the server againTurn: the next reading

Production turns red only when it falls more than 5% short of a target you set, or when its machines make nothing: a factory rarely runs every machine flat out, so falling short of the maximum alone is not a warning. Power turns red near capacity, and batteries warn when they are running down. The Refresh setting reads FRM faster or slower (power every second, two or four seconds).

5. Power switches

Power Switch keys are the one thing Foreman Deck changes in the game. A press turns the switch on or off at once, the same as flipping it in the game. FRM asks for its token before it lets anything flip a switch: paste FRM's authentication token, from FRM's options in the game's Options, Mods (it is also written to the game's log), into FRM token in any key's Setup section. Until then the key says add FRM token.

No other key changes anything: the rest only read.

Also on the XENEON EDGE

Foreman Deck also writes a small dashboard file, %APPDATA%\ForemanDeck\state.json, every two seconds. Foreman Control Room, our iCUE widget for the Corsair XENEON EDGE, reads it for a game or dedicated server on another PC; with the game on the same PC the widget can read FRM itself. The setting Feed the Foreman Control Room widget turns the file off. It never holds a token.

6. What it can and cannot do

  • It talks to FRM at the address you set (this PC unless you change it) and, if you set one up, your dedicated server. Nothing else, no account, and nothing goes to us.
  • It changes nothing in the game except a power switch you press. It presses no keys in the game. The dedicated server keys only read.
  • It writes one file, the dashboard file for the widget, and a setting turns that off.
  • Its log holds states, endpoint names and counts only: never a token, or a player's, switch's or save's name.

Frequently asked

The keys say FRM not answering.

The game is running but FRM's web server is not. Type /frm http start in the game's chat, or turn on its autostart in the game's mod options, and check that FRM is installed and enabled in the mod manager.

The keys say no answer from FRM.

Foreman Deck is set to read a game on another PC. Check that the game or server is running with FRM's web server started, and that the address and port in Setup are right and the port is open on that PC.

A Power Switch key says needs FRM token or token refused.

Paste FRM's authentication token into FRM token in Setup, as in Power switches.

Can Foreman Deck press keys in the game, like the build menu?

Not in this version. It reads the factory and flips power switches; it sends no key presses.

Is this made by Coffee Stain Studios, or by FRM's authors?

No. Foreman Deck is an unofficial project made by TeaTime, not affiliated with or endorsed by Coffee Stain Studios. Satisfactory is a trademark of Coffee Stain Studios AB. Ficsit Remote Monitoring is a community mod by its own authors; Foreman Deck only reads what it serves. No game logo, artwork, icon or screenshot is used: every key is drawn in code.

Something is still wrong.
