What it shows

The dashboard

  • The HUD clock, as the game draws it: the day and date, today's weather and the season either side of a sundial whose hand sweeps from 6 am to 2 am, the time, how long until 2 am, and your gold in a purse of digits.
  • Energy and health as bars.
  • The tool in your hands with its upgrade, the watering can's water, your toolbar slot and where you are.
  • Reminders, most pressing first: pets and animals to pet, crops to water or harvest, machines ready, a birthday gift, a festival, the traveling cart, mail, a quest due, your to-dos, bedtime.
  • Today and tomorrow: festivals with their hours, birthdays and whether you gave a gift, heart events and the cart.
  • Coming up: what comes next, such as festivals and birthdays.

The pages

  • Farmer: energy, health, gold, the tool, your skills with the experience to the next level, buffs, and who is online in multiplayer.
  • Mines: the floor in the Mines, Skull Cavern or the volcano, monsters and rocks left, the ladder, the elevator, and the ores on the floor when the mod's setting allows it.
  • Fishing: what bites where you stand right now, the fish you have never caught here, and why the others are not biting (another season, rain only, the hours).
  • Friends: hearts, dating and married, talked to today, gifts this week, birthdays and heart events (who and where only).
  • Tasks: reminders, quests and special orders with the days left, your to-do list and the mailbox.

The Fishing page in the Large slot, set to show that page alone. Fishing: 4 biting now, Fishing now in blue, where Beach, never caught here 6, fishing level 6. Fish, Beach, 10 of them in two columns: Halibut, new, biting now, Ocean, 6am to 11am and 7pm to 2am; Red Snapper, new, biting now; Sardine, biting now; Anchovy, biting now, all day; Crimsonfish, Legend, needs fishing level 5, East pier, 6am to 8pm; Flounder, new, 6am to 8pm; Eel, new, other season; Super Cucumber, new, other season; Tuna and Sea Cucumber, 6am to 7pm. Fishing at the beach: what bites now comes first, and the rest say why not. Here the widget is set to show the Fishing page alone.

It follows the game

On the dashboard with its page tabs, step onto a mine floor (the Mines, Skull Cavern or the volcano) and the screen turns to the Mines page; leave and it turns back to the page it was on. Cast a line and it turns to Fishing, then back once you have stopped fishing for 20 seconds. A green dot marks the Mines tab on a mine floor and the Fishing tab while you fish. Tap a tab yourself and the screen is yours: nothing turns for 10 seconds, and nothing turns back.

The Calendar page in the Large slot, headed Spring into Summer: four weeks from Saturday the 13th, with weekday names Sat to Fri along the top. Today, the 13th, is outlined, marked Spring and Fennel's birthday. The 14th has the Egg Festival and Rowan's birthday with cart and TV marks, the 24th the Flower Dance, the 1st starts Summer with Maximiliana's birthday, and the 7th has Hazel's birthday. Cart marks fall on Fridays and Sundays, and TV marks on Wednesdays and Sundays for the cooking show. Beside it, Today and tomorrow and Coming up, as on the dashboard.
The calendar starts today, so each column keeps its weekday, and a new season gets a coloured stripe.

When the game is closed or at the title screen, the widget says so instead of going blank, and everything comes back by itself when you load your farm. While the game is paused or in the background, the clock says that too.

What you need

  • A Corsair XENEON EDGE, on Windows.
  • iCUE 5.51 or newer. Earlier versions cannot let a widget read a file.
  • Stardew Valley 1.6 on Windows, with SMAPI 4, the game's mod loader.
  • The Stardew Deck Bridge mod, 1.2.1 or newer. Despite the name it works without a Stream Deck. Download it from the Stardew Deck page.

The bridge

Stardew Valley has no way for other programs to see into the game, so the widget uses the SMAPI mod we made for Stardew Deck. From version 1.2.0 it also writes what the game shows you to one file, %APPDATA%\StardewDeck\state.json, once a second while you play, and the widget draws from that file. The Stream Deck keys and the widget read the same information, under the same settings.

Download the bridge from the Stardew Deck page, unzip it into the game's Mods folder so you have Mods\StardewDeckBridge, and start the game through SMAPI. It is open source (MIT), so you can read exactly what it does: github.com/AussieH/stardew-deck-bridge. If you already use Stardew Deck with an older version of the mod, replace it with 1.2.1 or newer. The file is switched on by default; the mod's State file for iCUE setting (in Generic Mod Config Menu, or WriteStateFile in its config.json) turns it off.

Start the game once with the bridge before you add the widget in iCUE, so the bridge's folder is there for the widget to watch.

The permission prompt

The first time the widget runs, iCUE asks whether Stardew Dashboard may access a folder. The folder is the bridge's, %APPDATA%\StardewDeck, where it writes its state file, and it is the only thing the widget asks for: one folder, read only, and no network at all. Your saves live in %APPDATA%\StardewValley, which the permission does not cover. Allow it and your farm appears. If you deny it, the widget keeps waiting and tells you what to do.

Sizes and settings

You choose the size in iCUE when you place the widget: Small, Medium, Large or Extra Large, across or upright. Every page is laid out for every size. Big panels grow their type, and small ones drop the least needed lines rather than shrinking the text to fit. A list too long for its panel says how many rows it holds; tap it to see the next ones.

In the widget's settings in iCUE you can:

  • Show the whole dashboard or one page (Day, Farmer, Mines, Fishing, Friends, Tasks, Collections or Calendar), so you can put one big dashboard on the Edge and smaller Stardew Dashboard widgets beside it;
  • switch the page tabs on the dashboard on or off. The Edge is a touchscreen, so a tap on a tab opens that page;
  • switch the turn to the Mines page in the mines, and to the Fishing page while fishing, on or off;
  • switch the mine panel on or off: with it on, the dashboard itself shows the floor while you are in the mines;
  • use a 12-hour clock, as in the game, or a 24-hour one;
  • set the text, accent and background colours, and the background transparency. The accent colour is the sundial's arc, your toolbar slot, the open tab's edge and today on the calendar.

What it can and cannot do

  • It reads the bridge's state file in one folder on your PC. No network, no account, nothing stored, and the widget writes nothing; nothing leaves your PC.
  • It shows only what the game shows you. The mod's Spoilers settings decide whether villager locations and the ores in the mines appear.
  • No cheats: the widget only reads, and changes nothing in your game or save. If you turn on the mod's cheats and freeze the clock, the clock says Clock held (cheat).

Frequently asked

Do I need a Stream Deck?

No. You need only the Stardew Deck Bridge mod. It is named for the Stream Deck plugin it was made for, but the widget reads its file directly, and you can download it by itself.

Can I use it with Stardew Deck at the same time?

Yes. One mod feeds your Stream Deck and your XENEON EDGE together, with the same readings on both.

It says Waiting for Stardew Valley.

Start the game once through SMAPI with Stardew Deck Bridge 1.2.1 or newer in its Mods folder, and allow iCUE's permission prompt. iCUE can only watch a folder that already exists, so if you added the widget before the game had ever run with the bridge, remove the widget and add it again, or restart iCUE.

Is this made by ConcernedApe or Corsair?

No. Stardew Dashboard is an unofficial fan project made by TeaTime, not affiliated with or endorsed by ConcernedApe or Corsair. Stardew Valley is a trademark of ConcernedApe, and XENEON EDGE and iCUE are trademarks of Corsair. No game art, sprites or fonts are used: every picture is drawn in code, in the style of a wooden farm journal.
